Tai Chi
Tai Chi (or Taiji) is a set of naturally flowing movements performed slowly in sequence with a spirit of calmness, balance, and awareness. It stresses relaxation, and is excellent for stress reduction. Taught in the US since the 1930s, it has become very popular as a means of improving both physical and mental balance. It is ideal for seniors, adults, and mature youths. Instructor Rick Powell studied at the Grandmaster William C. C. Chen Taiji Center in New York, and has run studios in Tai Chi, Qigong, Meditation and Yoga in Binghamton and Ithaca. He specializes in providing individualized instruction to ensure that each student benefits from the art to the fullest possible extent.
